It’s a good habit to write down your notes in class. TUCHONG
These days, we often type (打字) on a phone or computer. However, a new study shows that writing by hand helps people learn and remember things better.
Professor Audrey van der Meer from Norway did the study. She asked people to wear a hat with sensors (传感器) that could show their brain (大脑) activity. Their brain became much more active (活跃的) when they were writing by hand than when they were typing.
According to Van der Meer, when you type on a keyboard (键盘), you just use one movement for each letter. But handwriting is more complicated (复杂的) – you move the pen across the paper, you see the letters you write and hear the sound you make while writing. These things use more of your senses (感官) and make your brain more active.
“It’s important to put the brain in a learning state (状态) as often as possible,” Van der Meer said.v This helps the brain to reach its full potential (潜能), she added.英语阅读
