分析：答案是D。此题考查关联词的用法。前一分句意为：“我真的不喜欢艺术”，后一分句意为：“我发现他的创作给人留下很深的印象”，这两个分句之间的关系很自然不是因果关系，也不是条件和结果的关系，故可排除A、 B和C。此时的while意为“虽然，尽管”，引导让步状语从句，相当于 although。
while一词在英语中被广泛运用，也是全国各地高考命题的热点词之一，因此掌握该词的用法很重要。下面结合历届高考题将while一词的种种用法归纳总结如下，希望对同学们的学习有所帮助。
一、while 用作连词
1．意为“当……的时候，在……期间”，相当于when或during the time when。
She called while I was out. 我不在家时她来访过。
I lived in my uncle’s while I was a mid?鄄dle school student.我上中学时住在我叔叔家。
He fell asleep while (he was) watching TV. 他看着电视就睡着了。
While (locked up) in prison, she wrote her first novel.她在狱中写了第一部小说。
注：当while 所引导的从句与主句的主语相同，且while从句的动词为be动词+现在分词时，while从句的主语和be动词可省略。
2．意为“与……同时，一边……一边”，相当于as或at the same time as。
While Mary was writing a letter, the child?鄄ren were playing outside.玛丽写信时，孩子们正在外面玩。
He listens to the radio while driving to work.他一边开车去上班，一边听音乐。
3．意为“然而，却”，用以表示前后对比或相反的情况。
He is a learned professor while his brother is just a peasant.他是个有学问的教授，而他的弟弟只是个农民。
Their country has plenty of oil while ours has none.他们的国家石油丰富，可是我们的国家却没有石油。
Tom likes black coffee while his wife prefers it with cream.汤姆爱喝不加牛奶或奶油的咖啡，而他妻子喜欢加奶油的。
4．意为“虽然，尽管”，相当于although,引导让步状语从句。
While he is a top student, he has some shortcomings.虽然他是个优秀的学生，但是他有一些缺点。
While I understand your viewpoint, I don’t agree with you.虽然我理解你的观点，但我还是不能同意你。
While he was respected, he was not liked.他虽然受到尊敬，但不被喜欢。
5．意为“只要”，表示条件，相当于as long as。
You will want for nothing while I am alive.只要我活着你就不会缺任何东西。
While there is life, there is hope.只要有生命就有希望。
二、while 用作名词，意为“一会儿，一点时间”
We have to wait a while for the bus. 我们只好等一会儿公共汽车。
He left a while ago.他刚走一会儿。
I haven’t seen him for a long while.我已经很久没遇见他了。
The boy came to himself after a while.过了一会儿，那个男孩苏醒过来了。
三、while 用在惯用语中
1．all the while，意为“始终，一直”。
He nodded all the while. 他一直在点头。
2．once in a while，意为“有时，偶尔”。
My pen pal writes me once in a while.我的笔友有时给我写信。
3．worth sb’s while，意为“对某人来说值得或有好处，值得干”。
It’s worth your while to come to the meet?鄄ing.参加这个会议对你有好处。
4．while away，意为“消磨，闲混”。
I whiled the whole day away reading novels.我看小说闲混了一整天。
We whiled away the time at the airport playing chess.我们在机场下棋消磨时间。
