英语的过程中，人们会经常碰到一些长得非常相像的词组，比如：at table，at the table；behind time，behind the time；by day，by the day；by hand，by the hand；give battle，give the battle；in black，in the black；in case of,in the case of；in charge of，in the charge of。
虽然这些词组只相差一个单词the，但是在语义上它们却存在着巨大的差别。现浅议如下：
1．at table在吃饭
at the table在餐桌边
When I knocked at the door,the Smiths are at table．
我敲门的时候，史密斯一家正在吃饭。
He found a seat at the table．

2．behind time晚点
behind the time过时地
The train today is behind time．
