1.起床Get Up
Ann:Hey, Jim. Wake up.
Jim:Do I have to get up now?
Ann:You’d better get up or you’ll be late.
Jim:What are you talking about? The alarm hasn’t even gone off yet.
Ann:Yes, it has. It went off 30 minutes ago.
Jim:I must have slept right through it.
Ann:Rise and shine, sleepyhead!
Jim:Just let me sleep 5 more minutes.

2.看电视Watch TV
Susan:Is there anything worth watching on another channel?
Jim:I think there’s a Western on.
Susan:Do you mind if we watch it? I’d really like to see it.
Jim:Well, I really wanted to see the football game.
Susan:Football game? Ok, and you know what comes on next?
Jim:I believe there’s a sitcom.
Susan:Are you interested in watching it?
Jim:Let me look in the TV Guide first.
Susan:Oh, I’m sorry. What’s on Channel 2 at 10pm?
Jim:If I remember correctly, it’s a quiz show.
Susan:Do you want to watch it?
Jim:Let’s watch it together.

3.烹饪菜肴Cook
Linda:Let’s see now. Cut the potatoes into small cubes.
Jim:Yes, but don’t cut them yet. Wait until they cool. Where’s the big plastic bowl?
Linda:On the bottom shelf in the cupboard under the sink.
Jim:What’s Donna like, by the way?
Linda:Donna? Well, she’s about 20. She’s very lovely. I think you’ll like her. What about Paul?

Henry:Wow. They are delicious. Can you pass the pepper?
Linda:Here you are. Taste the French fries.
Henry:They’re crispy.
Linda:Would you like some more?
Henry:No more. Thank you.
Linda:Let’s bottoms up!
Henry:To our friendship and health!

5.在洗衣店At the Laundry
Jack:I’d like to have these shirts washed and ironed.
Clerk:Ok. Do you want us to use starch?
Jack:Yes, heavy starch on the collar, please.
Clerk:Yes, sir. Your shirts will be ready by Thursday morning. Anything else?
Jack:I also have a suit to be dry-cleaned. Can I fetch it the day after tomorrow? It is urgent.
Clerk:No problem, sir.
Jack:Could you please tell me when your laundry opens and closes?
Clerk:We remain open from 9:00 am till 8:00 pm.
Jack:I see.
Clerk:Here is your laundry ticket, sir.
Jack:Thank you. (Thursday morning)

Clerk:Yes, sir. May I have your laundry ticket, please?
Jack:Here you are.
Clerk:Yes. They are ready to go.
