Teacher’s Prayer

I want to teach my students how?
To live this life on earth,
To face its struggle and its strife
And improve their worth.
Not just the lesson in a book,
Or how the rivers flow,
But how to choose the proper path,
Wherever they may go.
To understand eternal truth,
And know the right from wrong,
And gather all the beauty of
A flower and a song.
For if I help the world to grow
In wisdom and in grace,
Then, I shall feel that I have won
And I have filled my place.
And so I ask my guidance, God,
That I may do my part,
For character and confidence
And happiness of heart.
教师的心愿

我要教会学生——
怎样在世上生存，
怎样面对艰辛与纷争，
怎样把自身价值提升。
我不仅要教会学生书本内容，
抑或河水怎样流动，
还要教会他们不管去哪儿
都要选择正确的路径。
使学生懂得真理的永恒，
学会如何将是非辨清，
懂得欣赏花的美丽
和歌儿的动听。
倘若我能让世界充满
智慧与博爱，
那便是我的成功
和职责所在。
我会按照上帝的指点，
为了塑造学生的品格与信念
为了他们心灵的幸福，
做出我的贡献。
