1. 人为万物之灵。
Human beings are the most highly endowed.
2. 玉不琢不成器，人不学不知义。
(1) Just as fine jade must be crafted; a well-mannered person must be educated.
(2) A finest jade is well-cut; a true gentleman is well-cultivated.
3. 战战兢兢，如临深渊，如履薄冰。
(1) In dealing with this situation, we should be extra careful, as if we were on the edge of a cliff or treading on thin ice.
(2) To deal with this problem, we have to be extremely cautious as if we were in great danger.
4. 高不成，低不就。
When one sets one’s sight too high and look down on what is below, one will accomplish nothing.
5. 疑人勿用，用人勿疑。
(1) Don’t hire a person if you are dubious of him/her.
(2) When you hire a person, you must trust him/her completely.
