明月几时有

When will the moon be round and bright?

把酒问青天

With a cup of wine in hand I ask the blue sky

不知天上宫阙
 

I wonder the palace of heaven

今夕是何年

What year is tonight?

我欲乘风归去

I'd like to go there riding with the wind

又恐琼楼玉宇
 

Yet I fear the crystal and jade mansions

高处不胜寒

Where is too high that I can't withstand the cold

起舞弄清影

The angel is dancing with her moonlight shadow

何似在人间

How can we assume as if we are on the human world

转朱阁

She circles around the red bed-room

低绮户

Leaning onto the silk-curtain door

照无眠

Sleepless in front of the mirror

不应有恨

But it was nothing have to hate for

何事长向别时圆

Why is the moon so round for those in separation

人有悲欢离合

People can be sorrow or joy, close together or far apart

月有阴晴圆缺

The moon may be dim or bright, full or incomplete

此事古难全

This is something can not be perfect since ancient time

但愿人长久

May we all be blessed with longevity

千里共婵娟
