Pilot: Welcome, ladies and gentlemen, aboard flight number SA018. Our flight plan is Beijing to London Heathrow with a short stopover in Seoul. We will be taking off in approximately ten minutes. Please ensure that your safety belt is securely fastened, your seat is in the upright position and that your mobile phone is switched off. Our cabin crew will now give a quick safety demonstration. In the meantime, sit back and enjoy your flight. Tina: I hate these safety demonstrations. They make me more nervous. Chris: Do you have a fear of flying? Tina: Yes. It doesn't matter how often I fly, I can never relax when in the air. Chris: Why? It's very safe. The most dangerous part of the trip is in the taxi on the way to the airport. Statistically... Tina: Oh, don't talk to me when we're taking off. I feel sick. Chris: If you are going to ①throw up be sure to do it in the sick bag. Tina: What was that noise? Chris: The wing just fell off. We're all going to die. Tina: Shut up. Read whatever it is you're reading and leave me alone. Chris: I'm just looking at the safety instruction manual. There's a very interesting picture of the correct way to get into a crash position. Tina: That's it! I'm changing seats. Stewardess: Miss, please remain seated until the plane has reached a cruising altitude and the seatbelt light has been turned off. Chris: Calm down, will you? I promise I won't joke around anymore. Pilot: Ladies and gentlemen, the safety belt light has been turned off, although we do advise you to keep it fastened when seated. We will arrive in Seoul in about one hour. We will have a short stopover of about forty minutes and then proceed to our final destination, London. The cabin crew will now start to serve refreshments. Chris: Great, I'm starving. Stewardess: I'm sorry sir, could you please put your case in the overhead compartment or underneath the chair in front of you. It's blocking the aisle. Chris: Oh, sorry. Stewardess: Would you like something to drink, miss? Tina: Water, please. Stewardess: Fine. I'll just lower your tray. And you sir? Chris: I'll have a whiskey. Stewardess: ②On the rocks or straight? Chris: Straight, please. Is this all we get to eat? A packet of peanuts? Stewardess: Lunch will be served when we take off from Seoul. But if you are particularly hungry I can see if I can find you a sandwich. Chris: No, it's okay. I'll wait. Tina: Don't drink too much Chris. We have a long haul ahead. I don't want to see any air-rage incidents. Chris: Air-rage? Don't worry. This stuff will just make me sleep. Tina: Anyway, take it easy with the booze. If you get drunk during the flight your jet lag will be worse when you arrive. Pilot: Ladies and gentlemen, we will be starting our descent into Seoul in about 20 minutes. Passengers continuing onto London, please remain on board the aircraft. Passengers disembarking at Seoul, thank you for flying with Air Asia, and have a nice day. Pilot: We apologize for the delay in Seoul. We have now started the last leg of our journey and are cruising at an altitude of 11,000 meters. The weather report looks good. The best part of the flight will be smooth although we may shortly experience some turbulence as we meet some bad weather over northern China. Our expected time of arrival in London is 19:45, local time. 19:45。 Chris: Shit! Did he just say that the E.T.A. is going to be 7:45 in the evening? Tina: I think so. Why? Chris: We might not make our connection to Dublin. I'll go ask a steward. Pilot: Our in-flight entertainment programme will begin now. On the back of the seat in front of you, you will find a screen. You can change channels and adjust the volume by using the controls on your armrest. You will find headphones under the seat in front of you. Entertainment includes a selection of movies, soap operas, music channels, documentaries, and news in English and Chinese. Tina: What did they say? Chris: If we miss our connection they'll get us on the next flight of Dublin. Tina: Oh god. I hope we don't have to overnight in London. Chris: I don't think we will. The latest flight to Dublin is around ten. We'll definitely make that one. Tina: Oh look, they've started serving lunch. Chris: About time too. Steward: Hello sir. Beef or chicken? Chris: Beef please. Steward: What would you like, miss? Tina: Do you have any vegetarian meals? Steward: Certainly. Would you like some drink with your meals? Tina: Some wine please. Chris: Me too. Tina: What's wrong with you? Why can't you sit still? Chris: There's no space to stretch my legs. Tina: Put them in the aisle. Chris: Then I'll have to move every time they pass by with the drinks trolley. Tina: I know what's wrong. You're ③hanging for a smoke. Chris: You're right. I just looked at the digital map. We're still only over Russia. Six long hours to go. And knowing my luck I won't be able to find a smoking area in Heathrow before we board our onward flight. Tina: Try and get some sleep. You are driving me mad. Chris: I'm going to ask to be moved to a better seat. Stewardess: Yes sir, how may I help you? Chris: I haven't got enough legroom here. I wonder if you could upgrade me to business class? Stewardess: I'm sorry sir. I'm afraid I can't do that. You could move to a seat by the emergency exit. They have no row of seats in front of them so there is plenty of space. However, in the event of an emergency you will be responsible for opening the safety door. Chris: Are you expecting an emergency? Stewardess: Of course not. It's just that if you sit there we are obliged to tell you this. Chris: OK. I'll move. You don't mind if I move, do you? Tina: Mind? I'd be delighted to ④get you out of my hair for a few hours. I'm going to get some shuteye. Hopefully, when I wake we'll be landing in London. What would you like to have? Beef with noodles or chicken with rice? 或No, thank you. Would you like some tea? Would you like some coffee? 如果不需要,则回复说“No, thank you.”。 句型3 自由挑选时说:A/An ..., please. What would you like to drink? 例如:想喝可乐,请说“A Coke, please.”;想喝啤酒,请说“A Beer, please.”;想喝橙汁,请说“An orange juice, please.”;想要一杯红酒,请说“A glass of red wine, please.如果喝饮料想加冰块或柠檬片的话,那就在please之前加with ice或with a slice of lemon即可。例如,要可乐加冰块时,请说“A Coke with ice, please.”;索要番茄汁加柠檬片的说法则是:“A tomato juice with a slice of lemon, please.”。 Excuse me, Could I have ... instead? Excuse me. Could I have a vegetarian meal instead? Excuse me. Could I have a pair of chopsticks instead? 5 Excuse me. Could I have ... please? Excuse me. Could I have a pack of playing cards, please? Excuse me. Could I have stewed beef rice, please? 1 Could you give me today's lunch menu? 2 What kind of drinks do you have? 3 Is the alcohol free? 4 Could you please ask the passenger in front of me to straighten up his chair? I am unable to eat with this limited room. 5 I am not hungry now, could you bring my dinner later?
